That's Me Right There is the debut extended play by American singer Jasmine V. In early Jasmine will release her debut album which will include all of the songs from this EP.

Background[]

When she was 16, Jasmine was signed to Sony. However, the record deal was unsuccessful: Sony didn't let her release the music she wanted and have creative freedom. They eventually dropped Jasmine because the woman who had originally signed her had retired. After a few months, Jasmine signed to Interscope in October 2013.

Writing and recording[]

Unlike She Believed, which was about heartbreak, this EP is more focused on "about having fun and basically getting over love" and "girl power."[1] Jasmine worked with several writers and producers for the EP, stating that she wasn't comfortable with doing everything on her own yet.[2] Some of these people included, Harmony Samuels (“That’s Me Right There”), Carmen Reese, Sam Hook, A-Rod, Sounds. Jasmine said about the recording process, "We’ve traveled and recorded in different places. I’m just really thankful that they get me and my sound. I have an idea of what I want to be perceived as, and they got it on-point."[3]

Release[]

In the summer of 2014, Jasmine held a listening session where she played all of her new music for a group of her friends and fans. The EP was finally released on November 10, 2014. The following day, Jasmine held an EP release party and all of her friends attended.[4]
